The Judiciary Police (PJ) apprehended a local man who was suspected of having sexually assaulted his now 16-year-old daughter over the past 10 years.

The 44-year-old security guard, surnamed Chan, was yesterday sent to the Public Prosecutions Office which will carry out further investigation on the accusations.

He will be charged with rape, sexual abuse against children and carnal knowledge of minor.

According to a police spokesman, the victim, a local high school student, claimed to a female teacher of hers on Sunday that she had been sexually assaulted by her father since she was six years old.

The victim also alleged that her father forced to have sexual intercourse with her after she turned 10.

She had never mentioned about the mishap to anyone, but only revealed it to the teacher during a casual conversation which police believed was because the teacher had gained the trust of the 16-year-old.

After the teacher learned about the allegations, she contacted the girl’s mother immediately who then reported the case to police the same day.

The police spokesman said the mother claimed she had no knowledge on the matter.

The PJ did not disclose other details of the case such as where the alleged sexual assault took place and what area the victim’s school was in due to privacy reasons.
